You’ll Never Buy Butter From The Store After You’ve Made It Yourself

Regardless of the fact whether you will admit it or not, store bought butter is loaded with preservatives and calories. In short, it is not that good for you.

Making your own butter is better at every aspect -- it is more delicious, and what’s more important, it is healthier than commercialized brands. Many would agree that it is the best homemade food. It is super cheap and easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart of heavy cream (organic)
  • 3/4 tsp salt

And that is all you will need!

Preparation:

Pour the cream in the mixer bowl. Fit the paddle attachment, and add the salt. Before you turn the mixer on high, you may want to cover it with a towel.

Continue mixing and check the consistency once in a while. At first, the mixture shall look like whipped cream, but later it will start to separate into butter and butter milk. You know that the butter is ready when it will clump on the paddle.

Put the mixture in a colander and strain. As you can see, with this recipe you get two products -- butter and buttermilk.

Squeeze out the excess buttermilk under cold running water. It is good when the water is clear. Shape your butter and keep it in your fridge. Make sure you use it within a month.

Enjoy!
