Puppy Drags Her New Blanket Outside To Share It With a Cold Homeless Dog

Friendship adds joy, love, and happiness to our days, and when with true friends, we know we are safe, protected, and cared for.  A good friend has your back, supports you, and helps when you are in trouble.

Not long after she was rescued from the streets with her siblings, three years ago, Lana, an 8-month old puppy from Brazil was adopted by  Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiancé.

Lana finally got the warm home she deserves, regular meals, and owners that adore her.

Yet, she clearly hasn’t forgotten what it’s like for other dogs who aren’t as lucky to live in a loving and secure home.  When the weather became colder, Suelen bought a thicker blanket so that Lana could be cozy and warm in her doghouse.

The next morning, as Suelen’s fiancé was about to leave for work, he saw something strange in front of their house. Lana was lying near their fence with her new blanket, which she had dragged outside to share with another dog out on the street.

Suelen says that she has seen that dog before, but she doesn’t know if it is stray or not as he would run away every time she tried to get near him to check for an ID tag.

She said:

“I thought, ‘How beautiful what she did for her friend,’ my best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!”

Since that day, the couple has seen the dog a few times, but they couldn’t hold him to help him if he was lost. Yet,  keep leaving food and water outside their home.

Suelen adds that Lana would do anything to help her friend:

“She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this.”

Suelen posted a photo of the two friends on Facebook, and it quickly went viral. People were amazed by the act of generosity of Lana, so the photo has been shared over 27,000 times, and it has thousands of comments.

Suelen wrote:

“Seeing the friend without a home and cold, Lana did not hesitate to share the blanket. She took it to the fence and offered a piece to her friend. Each on one side of the fence, but both warm. I swear that when I saw this record I was moved. I was so overwhelmed by her generosity!”

Generosity comes in all shapes and sizes. The generous ones in spirit appreciate others, think of others, value them, and give to them.  Generosity brings incredible freedom and empowerment to both, the giver and the receiver.
