Weddings have always been one of the most important events in life, but nowadays, organizing the reception has become outrageously complicated!
The décor, cake, flowers, fancy chairs, party plates, mini appetizers, fashionable tableware, table numbers.. does it have an end?
If you plan to tie the knot in Texas, add burros to the list!
Having burros, miniature donkeys, at your wedding is available there since 2015.
During a Texas Hill Country Events wedding, a local BBQ joint called Alisha Randig and informed her about a customer request for a beer burro business.
She said:
“They called me knowing I had a ranch and asked if I’d be interested in doing it. There was one venue in Wimberley that started doing it a long time ago, I had seen it before but it never crossed my mind to do it.”

After searching through Craigslist, she bought two of them and named them Annie Oakley and John Wayne. At the time, they didn’t know that Annie was pregnant, so over time, the number increased to eight.
Randig explained:
“They have custom-made pack saddles, about waist-high, with baskets. They’re small — we don’t put a lot of weight on them, they’re more for the aesthetic.”
The idea spread like wildfires, and now, these adorable little donkeys dressed in flowers serve snacks and drinks, distribute party favors, or act as walking photo booths at weddings and other events throughout Texas, and thanks to Little Burro Events, in Napa, Sonoma, and San Francisco as well.
Do you fancy the idea?
