Grapefruit use in the kitchen
Wash the grapefruit with cold water before eating to remove any dust residue or any pesticides. Although we will not eat the shell, however, while cutting the unwashed fruit, the “meat” from the shell can be infected through the knife.
Usually it is easier to eat grapefruit fresh, by cutting the fruit in two equal halves and then remove the meat using a spoon. You can also eat it like an orange. Peel the shell by hand or using a knife, remove the white shell of the meat and the small white hairs and seeds.
Tips for preparation:
Grapefruit pieces are a great addition to every fruit salad.
Fresh grapefruit juice is considered to be extremely refreshing drink.
It can also be used for preparing desserts, jam and marmalade.
