People have always hated their grey hair, mostly because that’s a sign they are getting older (along with saggy skin and wrinkles).
In 2017, a woman went to a salon in California, belonging to Jack Martin. She was desperate and didn’t know what to do with the gray hairs which didn’t seem to stop appearing and asked Jack for help. After a discussion between them, they decided it was best if Jack dyed her hair silver.
Using his skills, Jack succeeded to make an excellent transformation. The woman fell in love with her new look. Jack posted her on Instagram, and the post went viral.
Since then, a lot of women request to have this silver touch. They decided to go gray and prove that the issue isn’t just about your age, but your self-esteem and self-love, since graying can happen to you at any age.
Mindy, 38, wrote: “My silver to me means embracing the aging process. It’s not for everyone, and that’s totally okay. I have a lot of silver and wanted to see what would happen if I stopped trying to hide it and, instead, tried to use plant-based products to enhance it. That was almost 2 years ago and my hair, and confidence, have never been better.”
You can see these looks on Instagram: the @grombre account and hashtags like #goinggraygracefully, #silversisters and #grayhairmovement.
Lady Gaga is one of the celebrities who promoted this silver trend, as something that should be celebrated, rather than hidden.
These women’s stories encourage other women all around the world to do the same.
