The world is still in shock, people still locked inside their homes, everyone hoping that the dangerous coronavirus pandemic will soon be over.
Yet, while we have spent the past several months indoors, Nature did not stop. Spring is here, with all its power to brighten up our lives! Last spring, a couple of baby foxes wandered onto the porch of an Illinois-based grandmother!
The woman lives in a wooded area, so she commonly sees lots of animals, and these cubs were apparently on a mission to explore the house and peered inside the window, looking for a tasty treat.
At first, just one baby fox visited the house and licked the sliding glass door.
Redditor Vechrotex, whose grandma was the host of the cute family, shared the photo and it immediately went viral.
Since the first post, user Vechrotex regularly uploaded new updates on the baby fox, whose siblings started showing up on their doorstep too.
He said:
“Here in Illinois we get red foxes in forested areas, we see them a lot and it’s not that big of a deal. One day my grandma saw a baby red fox and took a picture of it. She shared the picture with me and I thought it was just so cute, I decided to post it. I’m glad I was able to make so many people happy! The mom comes by a lot more than the babies. She is always close when her babies are on the porch.”
Vechrotex and Grandma are happy to be able to spread smiles by sharing the lovely fox adventure.
Baby red foxes are born blind and open their eyes about two weeks later. Therefore, these ones were probably 3-4 weeks old. Also, the little animals rely on their mother’s milk for the first month, and then turn to solid foods and learn to hunt.
The baby fox saga pleased many, so in mid-June 2019, a Redditor asked Vechrotex for another update.
Vechrotex explained that they grew older and didn’t spend that much time on the porch, but he believed they will come to pay a visit again soon:
“The normal thing to happen before and after the pictures where taken was you would see them deep in the woods behind the house with their mom. I’m sure they’re older now and hunting by themselves, but I would have to ask my grandma.”
Grandma was happy to have the curious visitors on her porch, and I bet you would have been too!
Just look at these adorable little fellows!
