You Are Never Too Old To Need Your Mom

The role of the mother is irreplaceable in life. Our mothers are the strongest source of love and care we receive during our entire life.

Their role keeps changing as we grow older, and they become our best friends, our advisors, our critics, our protectors, our confidants, fans, and accomplices “in crime”.

They provide everything we need at a given moment in life. As we grow more and more independent, we somehow drift away from our parents.

Yet, what we should always remember is that we will always need them, and we will always crave for their love and support.

We tend to outgrow things over time, but we never outgrow our mothers, or at least, we never should. Children need their mother’s guidance and care all their life.

When we were younger, we always called for our mothers whenever we felt hurt, angry, or scared. As grownups, we do not ask for them that often, but we need them as much.

One Jewish proverb says: “A mother understands what a child does not say.”

No one can deny this dynamic between the mother and her child. Mothers have an intuition that guides them to help their children excel in life.

A mother will leave everything to be with her child when she is needed. Her life revolves around her children, even though she might have a successful career and tons of things to do during the day.

Our mothers may criticize us to motivate us to get better, but they never judge us. Their counsel is invaluable in life. Long and deep conversations with our mothers heal the soul, and their comforting words have a soothing and rejuvenating effect.

The love of a mother is unconditional, so she remains there for you at all times, ready to forgive and forget, no matter how hurt or upset she felt. They are the emotional backbones of the family, so they do their best to protect everyone from being hurt, and to provide the holding place for everyone’s feelings.

You are never too old to need your mom and her love. Therefore, make sure you always keep in touch with your her. If she is late, mention her in your prayers, and keep the memory of her always in your mind and heart.

If you are fortunate to have her still with you, try to make the best of the time you have together.

Distance should not separate you, call her regularly, explain what happens in your life, share even little details, and listen to her talking about her adventures and wellbeing.

Whenever you can, go and visit her. Perhaps she needs you more than you need her, and she deserves that special place in your life even when you have started up your own family.

If you live close by, you can take up the same hobby, and spend quality time together. Life is short. Remember to tell her how much you love her while you still have the chance.
