The ongoing search for the remains of a missing Italian teen Emanuela Orlandi, who disappeared on June 22, 1983, led to the unearthing of thousands of bones by forensic experts from two ossuaries within the Vatican.

Emanuela Orlandi was 15 when she vanished on her way home from a music lesson. Her brother Pietro, now 60, never stopped searching and had hoped to learn the truth about the 30-year-old mystery.

Last year, the family received a tip that suggested that her remains were buried inside a Vatican burial site. The cryptic clue — a photograph with a message: “Look where the angel is pointing” — led them to the tombs of Princess Sophie von Hohenlohe and Princess Charlotte Federica of Mecklenburg in the Teutonic Cemetery, near St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Teutonic Cemetery is located adjacent to the grand Saint Peter’s Basilica and is typically reserved for the burials of German-speaking Catholics.

After the Vatican agreed for forensic investigators to open the tombs on July 11, they found no human remains nor traces of coffins. The Vatican suspected that the remains of the princesses may have been removed during renovation work on the cemetery and surrounding buildings in the 1960s and 70s.

Yet, Giorgio Portera, a geneticist appointed by the Orlandi family, reported that two ossuaries were uncovered during their investigations beneath the floor of an area inside the Teutonic College. Investigators subsequently discovered “thousands of bones” in the chambers, which are believed to correspond to “dozens of people.”

Vatican spokesman Alessandro Gisotti said that DNA analysis will take place on each set of remains, but the precise data will have to await “morphological evaluations”. The initial examination of the bones followed international protocols.

He explained that many of the bones being dated are shattered and therefore this increases the number present, many of which are small, so there may be more fragments of the same bone structure.

According to some reports, Emanuela’s father was an employee of the Vatican Bank or an employee of the papal household, so the family lived inside Vatican City.

Orlandi’s sister, Frederica, described the opening as an “emotional experience” and said she believed that Emanuela’s remains are possibly in the ossuary.

Pietro Orlandi added that, even if the bones do not belong to his sister, they will be a problem for the Vatican, as there are hundreds, thousands of them, and it is now classifying them by age and will investigate the more recent ones. He added that it would be devastating to find the remains of Emanuela just 200 meters from their house, after all these years.

He also pointed out that an independent expert needs to investigate the bones to ensure the objectivity of the results.

The Vatican responded in a statement, that it is “once again showing its openness towards the Orlandi family” in agreeing for investigations to take place in the Teutonic Cemetery, even when only based on an “anonymous report.”

The analysis of “several hundred partially intact bone structures” and “thousands of fragments” uncovered in the search was conducted on July 27, monitored by an expert appointed by the Orlandi family. Yet, the findings revealed that “none of the remains could be dated later than the end of the 19th century.”

Upon the request of an advocate for the Orlandi family, further laboratory testing will be done on 70 bone fragments.

Over the years, there have been many interesting claims about the faith of the girl. Conspiracy theories have run rampant in Italy since the disappearance of the girl, and The Vatican denies having any role in it.

Almost two weeks after she disappeared, St. Pope John Paul II mentioned her in the Angelus and asked the responsible for her disappearance to come forward.

Shortly after this, people started calling her family, claiming to be associated with Turkish nationalist groups, and to have kidnapped Orlandi as a bargaining chip to secure the release of Mehmet Ali Ağca, who attempted to assassinate St. Pope John Paul II in 1981.

Yet, in an interview with Italian television, he said that he believed she was alive and well and living in a convent. In 2006 he again stated that the girl is living in a cloistered convent somewhere in Europe, but these claims were never confirmed.

Other people speculate that a cleric ordered her kidnapping to send a message to her father, and some believe that the Italian mafia was involved in her disappearance.

In May 2012, the police searched the De Pedis tomb, and 85-year-old Gabriele Amorth, (1925-2016) an Italian Roman Catholic Priest and an exorcist of the Diocese of Rome, claimed that Emanuela was kidnapped by a member of the Vatican police for sex parties and then murdered. Amorth maintained that officials of an unnamed foreign embassy were involved as well.

He also claimed that this was one of the numerous such cases of recruiting girls for Vatican parties and crimes with a sexual motive.

Perversion and sexual rituals go hand and hand with Satanism, and there were claims that the evil influence of Satan was evident in the highest ranks of the Catholic hierarchy.

The Vatican is making alternative media headlines everywhere lately, claiming that an uncountable amount of children have been abused at the hands of various Vatican officials over the years.

The latest example was Cardinal George Pell, one of the Vatican’s most powerful officials, an advisor to Pope Benedict and Pope Francis, who was convicted on five counts of child sexual abuse.

Carlo Maria Vigano, the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States and Secretary-General of the Governorate of Vatican City, recently implicated many people, including Pope Francis, in sexual abuse.

A massive amount of decades of sexual abuse was reported in a choir led by the retired pope Benedict’s brother.

Many also suspect that the practice of Satanism is happening within the Vatican walls and inside the Church, and while the idea that our world leaders are engaged in this type of activity may be a shock to some, it is not surprising.

Malachi Martin, an Irish Catholic priest, and writer on the Catholic Church, and a Professor of Palaeography at the Vatican’s Pontifical Biblical Institute, writes that the incidence of Satanic pedophilia – rites and practices – was already documented among certain bishops and priests, and the cultic acts of Satanic pedophilia are considered to be the culmination of the Fallen Archangel’s rites.
