If You Start to Choke and You Are Alone: Save Your Life in Just One Second (Video)

The Heimlich Maneuver is a standard procedure in cases of choking.

It consists of abdominal thrusts; the person who performs it stands behind the one that is choking and presses its stomach and diaphragm using the hands, while raising him or her just a little, in order to create a pressure that will take out the food.

However, this maneuver requires two individuals to do it.

But, what if you are all alone?

Jeff Rehman, a fire medic, has the answer to this question. He suggests that you kneel and fall on your chest forward, as shown in the video below.

This helps your diaphragm to create a pressure and take the food out or at least help you to get some air.
