People who watched the interview with the local television station fell in love with the 9-year-old boy from Oklahoma.
Children are incredibly pure and innocent, creative, truthful, kind, loving, imaginative, and simple.
Their wishes are always a pleasure to hear and help come true, but the one of a foster child from Oklahoma, Jordan, is simply heartbreaking!
When, in an interview last August, the boy was asked where he would go if he could go anywhere in the world, he replied: “to an adoption party for a home.”
For six years, the 9-year-old boy has been a part of the foster care system, meaning that he has spent most of his life in foster care.
On the local news, he begged his heart out to be adopted. His only wish was to be raised by a loving family.
He said:
“I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad or just mom or just dad. I don’t really care. […] The reason it’s important is so I could have some people to talk to anytime I need to. I hope one of y’all pick me.”
So pure, so honest, so innocent!
And then- a miracle happened!
This answer made his wish come true!
Thousands of people offered to adopt him after the interview,!
His simple answer to the question about his wishes was:
“To have a family, and family, family. Those are the only wishes I have.”
This was not the first time Jordan was interviewed.
Three years ago, he and his biological brother, Braison, participated in an interview. At the time, the brothers were living in different foster homes, and Braison was adopted without Jordan.
Now, the two boys barely see each other.
Christopher Marlowe, Jordan’s permanency planning worker, said that the Oklahoma Department of Human Services were hoping to get Jordan and Braison in closer proximity so that they could at least spend more time together.
He said:
“His brother’s adoptive family has been agreeable to that and even if things go well, they said they would be willing to take them out on day passes so they could spend some good quality time together.”
Soon, the wish for Jordan to find a decent and loving family will be complete.
Marlow had sorted through 5,000 adoption applications!
The foster care system is traumatic and challenging for children of all ages.
In such a short time, Jordan has been through a lot:
“Even for a child that’s been through custody, he’s been through a whole lot compared to most of our kids.”
Fortunately, the boy will soon start a whole new stage in his life.
Oklahoma’s Department of Human Services selected a match they believed was the perfect family for him after reviewing all those thousands of applications!
Jordan finally went home to a family!
To allow the 9-year-old to get to know his family in peace, further details of Jordan’s new family have been kept private.
Little man, we wish you the best, just like you deserve!
