Peppermint
Although some of you may think that peppermint flavored chewing gums and candies are the best weapon in the fight against bad breath, but peppermint can actually make your breath even worse. Namely, bad breath returns soon after the taste of menthol disappears, and sometimes it is even worse.
According to the experts, you can find many products that are supposed to blast bad breath away, but these can do more harm than good. Many products contain sugar which is the perfect food for bacteria, and while eating it, the bacteria release harmful substances that cause bad breath.
Meat
Of course, if you consume meat couple of times a week, it will not affect your breath, but if you eat too much protein, this can sure cause some problems regarding bad breath.
When the body receives more protein than necessary, it breaks down into carbohydrates. Ammonia is one of the by-products, and it can easily find its way out through your mouth.
Dried Fruit
Dried fruit contains large amounts of insoluble cellulose fiber, and tiny pieces often get stuck on your teeth. You should also pay attention to the amount of sugar dried fruits contain.
Also, after eating dried fruit, be sure to wash and floss your teeth to prevent the growth of bacteria in your mouth.
