Water, Baking Soda, and Vinegar is All You Need to Make Your Oven Sparkle!

If you enjoy cooking, you surely cook a lot of cakes, breads, dishes, and desserts in the oven.  However, cleaning the oven afterward can be a challenging task, as the spills usually burn on it, creating a difficult-to-remove mass that causes smoke every time you turn on the oven.

Debra Johnson, the in-house cleaning expert at Merry Maids says:

“There are three telltale signs it may be time to give your oven a scrubbing. The first: general appearance. Do you notice crust or residue on the bottom? Is the door coated or splattered in grease or grime? Number two: odor. When you fire up your oven, does a distinct smell arise? Catching a stanky whiff before you’ve cooked anything means there’s lingering grease, dirt or food inside. And lastly: smoke. A clean oven shouldn’t smolder, so this can also signify buildup.”

A clean oven is a must, so we offer you an easy and simple way to make it sparkle!

You will need:

  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • An oven-safe pan or bowl
  • A sponge or washcloth

Instructions:

In the oven-safe container, mix the baking soda, vinegar, and water, and dab a bit of the mixture on the bottom of the oven.  You should place the rest of the homemade oven cleaner in the container on an oven rack.

Next, just set the oven for 100 degrees and let it run for 45 minutes. Afterward, just wipe all the dirt, and your oven will be shining like new!
