Russian Artist’s Felted Wool Animals Might Stun You With Their Cuteness (30 Pics)

What makes art so great is the diversity it offers to artists. Art is ubiquitous, it knows no boundaries, no time and space. It simply inspires.

The pieces of art made by a Russian artist are something we have not seen yet, and we bet you will fall in love with them the moment you see them, just like we did!

Yulia Derevschikova, a felted wool artist from Khabarovsk, Russia, creates adorable woodland animals that fascinate with their cuteness!

She uses a felted wool technique, which is similar, but not the same as wool felt. This technique, dry felting, involves threading and weaving, which adds extra puffiness and softness to the wool. Yulia fuses the woolen fibers together using a needle, and her delightful creatures look like they are covered in real fur.

She explains:

“Wool is a natural material which over time will not lose its properties, unlike faux fur. A toy made of wool is hypoallergenic since it does not contain microorganisms that can affect sensitive skin.

Dry felting technology allows you to save an ideal new condition of toy for a long time. Wool toys are durable and can be passed on from generation to generation without losing their pleasant appearance.”

The fluffy forest creatures, including rabbits, mice, ducks, hedgehogs, chipmunks, and deer, are simply captivating, with their little noses, wispy whiskers, and beady eyes.

She sometimes creates exotic animals too, such as a lion cub, a llama, or a bush baby.

Yulia has an impressive portfolio and claims that her inspiration comes from her love for animals. When you look at her creatures, you cannot control the urge to cuddle them and hug them.

She spends at least 20 hours to make one felted animal, and they have charmed a lot of people!

Julia even started selling and sending them to other cities, and she says that it makes people very excited:

“The positive emotions I get when I deliver an order to the customer are very valuable to me, it gives me inspiration.”

Well, girl, you have fans here too!
