Dust Mites In Your Bed Are Making You Sick, Kill Them With This Simple Solution

Dust mites are small bugs which live in carpets, beds, and all kinds of upholstered furniture, feed on dead skin cells, and may lead to allergies, skin reactions, or asthma-related issues.

Research has found dust mite infestations in even 4 out of 5 homes.

The most common signs that indicate that there are dust mites in your home are a runny nose, red, watery, or itchy eyes, swollen, blue skin located under the eyes, sneezing, itchy nose, mouth roof, or throat, congestion, itchy nose, cough, and facial pressure or pain.

In the case of asthma, people experience trouble sleeping, difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest pain, and are especially prone to colds.

Dust mites will be effectively kept at bay by regular vacuuming and washing sheets, but the mattresses and pillows also contain them, so you should also clean them as well. If the vacuum you use does not include a HEPA filter, the mites will actually return to the mattresses and pillows again.

On the other hand, you can use this extremely helpful eucalyptus oil solution to kill and repel dust mites.

This is how to prepare the eucalyptus dust mite-killing solution:

Ingredients:

  • 15-30 drops eucalyptus oil
  • 2 cups distilled water

Instructions:

Spray the solution on all areas which cannot be easily washed in the bedroom, and then hang them to dry in a dry and warm place, as the growth of mold spores is boosted in humid places. Do this three times a week to eliminate dust mites completely.

Dust mite infestations are efficiently destroyed by essential oils, especially eucalyptus oil, as shown in multiple studies.

Yet, you should know that this essential oil is not safe for children younger than 10, so you should use some other safe alternatives in this case, like fennel or clove essential oils.
