Dog doing the “paw”

Dog Is So Proud She Learned To ‘Paw’ She Won’t Stop Doing It

The mom of a 6-year-old dog claims her pet, Lyla, won’t stop doing the “paw” after she had learned it when she was a puppy.

All dogs are adorable, and each one of them is unique. A 6-year-old Great-Pyrenees mix, Lyla, is definitely one of a kind, I can assure you!

Her mom, Nicole McCue, agrees with this entirely.

She says:

“If I could put her general demeanor into two words, they would probably be ‘disinterested’ and ‘stubborn. She’s one of the only dogs I’ve ever met who does not enjoy playing with toys and often even rejects my attempts to take her outside for a walk, especially if it’s a hot day.”

She continues to explain that when she was a small puppy, training Lyla was a piece of cake. However, after she learned to “sit” and “paw” with ease, she thought her job was done.

For many years, McCue spent 30-45 minutes every day to make Lyla learn “down”, but she just could not do it, or more likely – refused to do it.

The “paw” has become her favorite trick, and she shows it off every time she can.

McCue adds:

“Lyla is extremely stubborn and likes to exert as little energy as possible. Her solution to everything is ‘paw.’ She wants to go outside? Here’s a paw. Wants something I’m eating? Paw. Wants to be pet? Paw. The list goes on!”

Also, McCue says she is not sure why the “paw” trick stuck with her dog so aggressively, but a lot of people tell her it is a breed trait. Lyla always raises her head and smiles with pride whenever she provides her paw.

What’s more, she doesn’t like to be ignored, so she will continuously hit you with it in case you do.

Her mom doesn’t mind the fact that Lyla won’t perform many other tricks, as she claims that her dog is an expert in what matters the most- loving her family.

She maintains:

“Besides the general stubbornness, this girl is a love bug. When she’s not busy protecting the house, she’s snuggling with me. She loves to spoon, loves a good ear rub, and loves naps.”

This sounds like Lyla is just perfect, doesn’t it?
