Abandoned Rescue ‘Unicorn’ Puppy Has Tail On His Forehead

If you are interested in getting a rescue dog, but you really want to find an enchanting, special, and unique one, you are in the right place!

Prepare to meet the puppy of your dreams, as it is a real-time magical being, a cute little furry unicorn!

People on the Internet went crazy about “Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn,” an adorable rescue puppy with what appears to be a tail growing on its forehead.

After it was rescued alongside another older dog, Mac’s Mission, a licensed dog rescue center in Missouri, posted a photo of the cute puppy.

Rescue workers quickly named the puppy after the whale with a single, large tusk that’s sometimes called the “unicorn of the sea.”

The rescue center pays specific attention to dogs with special needs or rare health issues that might otherwise struggle in other over-burdened shelter systems.

According to their website:

“Mac’s Mission “specializes in special”, our focus is on the homeless “janky” dogs who would die without us. The injured, abused, and birth defects, that is our mission.

Shelters and rescues do not have the time or resources that we do so most of these special dogs get sadly euthanized. Our hope is to give them the chance they need to thrive and heal in an environment full of love and caring.”

Mac’s Mission explained:

“He was rescued in rural Missouri, so many dogs get dumped there. We save dozens this way. They are always in terrible shape.”

In an update, the rescue center answered the question everyone got in mind -- the tail doesn’t wag when he gets excited. Namely, the vet found out that the tail, unlike a normal one, doesn’t have bones inside.

Yet, the little miraculous dog is in good shape and in safe hands now. A local veterinarian examined it and found only some easily treatable worms common in rescue puppies.

He also carried out X-rays to uncover the mystery of his unique forehead feature and found out it poses no risks to his health, but the nature of the birth defect remains unclear.

Caregivers claim Narwhal likes to nibble on fingers and give kisses and wants to play with anyone nearby.

In a Facebook post, the rescue center wrote:

“The unicorn face tail does not bother Narwhal and he never slows down just like any normal puppy. The extra tail is not connected to anything and has no real use other than making him the COOLEST PUPPY EVER.

Right now he is pretty much the most unique amazing example of what we do here and we are so thankful to have the chance to be part of his journey.”

The puppy is not up to adoption yet, as the center intends to keep an eye on him until he is older and stronger.

Yet, he is definitely in no short supply of fans!

One Facebook user commented on the post:

When it is time for this little unicorn to get adopted, it’s going to be the longest adoption line in history! “
