A little bit of love can change so much, and sometimes that’s more than enough to turn a shy, scared pup into an affectionate, trusting dog. One example of that is this one when Sam Clarence adopted Stanley from a bully breed rescue in Christchurch, New Zealand. The pup was found as a stray when he was just six months old, living on an abandoned property with his sibling and mom.
Being a dog-walker for a nearby shelter, Clarence was asked to foster one of the puppies for some time. Little did he know, this little thing would soon become his most loyal friend. For Clarence, it was love at first sight, but Stanley didn’t feel the same. The pup was terrified and it took him an hour just to come out of the car.
Clarence worked with him all the time, helping the dog adjust to his new situation and living environment. He managed to gain his trust so much that the two of them were not touching.
Stanley would lay behind Clarence and always have to have at least one paw touching his back. When they go on road trips, the dog always makes sure to keep a paw on him. If Clarence moves, Stanley also moves. Stanley is a very loving dog and he shows that all the time.
Stanley is no longer shy or scared. He loves Clarence and is so very grateful for his new life and the love he receives. This dog has transformed from a timid, frightened pup into a friendly, outgoing “Velcro dog.” He loves everyone, and also loves other dogs.
