Chris Evans Sends A Real Captain America Shield To 6-Year-Old Who Saved His Sister From Dog Bite

There is a hero hidden in all of us. Yet, not many are courageous enough to risk their own lives to save someone else. Well, a 6-year-old boy did exactly this! Oh, we can learn so much from children!

On July 9, Bridger stepped up in a big way. When he realized that his little sister was about to be attacked by an aggressive dog, he jumped in front of her to save her life.

He got bitten in the face, but still managed to grab his sister by the hand and run away to a safe place.

Bridger was hospitalized for some time and ended up with about 90 stitches on his face. His aunt shared the unpleasant event on Instagram, stating that Bridger thought that if someone had to die, it should be him.

The act was purely heroic, and his selflessness drew the attention of many on-screen superheroes.

One of them is Chris Evans, who acted as Captain America in eight Avengers movies. He was so moved by Bridger’s heroic deed, that he decided to give the young superhero a gift: a real-life Captain America shield!

There are no words. We are so, so thankful.

He also sent a video message to Bridger:

“Pal, you’re a hero, what you did was so brave, so selfless — your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you.”

Hey, all. Please, share my nephew’s story so that it gets as much exposure as it can. We know that our little hero would love some words of encouragement from his favorite heroes. On July 9th, my six year old nephew Bridger saved his little sister’s life by standing between her and a charging dog. After getting bit several times on the face and head, he grabbed his sister’s hand and ran with her to keep her safe. He later said, “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.” After receiving 90 stitches (give or take) from a skilled plastic surgeon, he’s finally resting at home. We love our brave boy and want all the other superheroes to know about this latest hero who joined their ranks. @tomholland2013 @chrishemsworth @robertdowneyjr @markruffalo @prattprattpratt @twhiddleston @chadwickboseman @vindiesel @chrisevans EDIT: I just finished visiting with Bridger at his home. His wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact. He can’t smile too widely yet, but he was grinning as I read some of your comments to him. I’d also like to mention here that the dog’s owners are really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family. We feel no resentment toward them at all, and—if anything—there’s only been an increase of love between our families as a result of this incident. EDIT 2: Once again we’re blown away by the amazing comments and messages that Bridger’s receiving. I’ve had lots of inquiries about a GoFundMe. Bridger’s family has asked that any one wishing to help out financially can, instead, donate to @mission_22 or @wwp. Bridger is also a huge fan of Science, especially Geology. So I’m going to start a post where people can share with him pictures of cool rocks that they see. EDIT 3: Once again, everyone’s kindness has meant so much to us. I’m trying to get to all of the messages that I can, but it may take some time. For those who have inquired about sending Bridger some rocks, here’s the address to use: Bridger Walker P.O. Box 22141 Cheyenne, WY 82003 #BridgerStrong

He explained that the boy truly deserves the present.

He added:

“Keep being the man you are; we need people like you. Hang in there. I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there’s much that can slow you down.”

The parents of this amazing boy, Robert, and Teila, captured his response to Evans’ message, as he sat with his sister clad in a Captain America costume.

Bridger was taken aback by the clip, and while he smiled, he kept it stoic, as a true hero!

He said the video message was “good”, while his sister said she thought it was awesome!

When she told her big brother that he can take his new shield ‘wherever you go’, the boy laughed and joked back, saying that he doesn’t think “that’s a good idea.’

Bridger’s aunt, Nikki Walker, has been constantly sharing info about the state of her nephew with the public.

She explained she visited the boy at his home, and his wound was looking so much better.

Moreover, he was “ in great spirits”. She said he is not able to smile widely yet, but he was grinning as she read some of the comments people wrote about him.

My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.” He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks. Please, check your DM’s for my sweet nephew’s story. @tomholland2013 @chrishemsworth @robertdowneyjr @markruffalo @prattprattpratt @twhiddleston @chadwickboseman @vindiesel @chrisevans @vancityreynolds @thehughjackman Edit: I never expected my sweet nephew’s story to reach so many. Please, follow my other post (I only have two so far 😅) for the latest info regarding my sweet nephew and his family.

People have been so interested in Bridger’s story that she felt obligated to give the people a second update on the situation. Nikki said that they are once again thrilled by the comments and messages Bridger receives.

Many people were seeking information from her about a GoFundMe page.

Bridger’s family said that whoever wants to help them out, can donate to @mission_22 or @wwp instead.

Bridger is a big fan of science, especially geology, so she intends to start a post where people can share pictures of cool rocks they had found with him.

And soon afterward, a third update followed!

The aunt says people’s kindness has meant so much to the family. She is trying to respond to all messages they receive, but her reply may take a while.

For those that were interested in sending Bridger some rocks, she wrote the address:

Bridger Walker

P.O. Box 22141

Cheyenne, WY 82003.

Luckily, it is expected that Bridger will make a full recovery from the sustained injuries. His family was positively surprised by the attention Bridge’s story has received.

His aunt said in a post that when she first posted the story, she expected about 500 likes and maybe a couple dozen reshares.

Yet, the love and support they keep receiving surprised them all!

The brave young boy impressed Anne Hathaway too, who wished him “an easeful recovery, and many cool looking rocks.”

So do we!

The family said they were also contacted by many celebrities, including Mark Ruffalo, Brie Larson, Grant Gustin, Tom Holland, Hugh Jackman, Zachary Levi, the Russo brothers, and Robbie Amell.

Every year, around 4.5 million people get bitten by dogs in the United States. The reasons vary depending on the circumstances under which the attack occurs.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) says that any dog can bite, from the fluffiest, tiniest puppy, to the largest dog.

One of the most important things dog owners can do to prevent this is to make sure their dogs are properly socialized.

Socializing the pet can help it feel relaxed in all kinds of situations. By introducing the dog to people and other animals while it is still a puppy will help it feel more comfortable in different circumstances as it gets older.

Have y’all noticed that I have no idea what I’m doing yet? #UmmmIAccidentallyWentViral? When I first posted for Bridger, I expected maybe 500 likes at most and maybe a couple dozen reshares. But here we are. So much love from all walks of life (including a few celebs)! And we just got off a call with a friendly neighborhood idol. (Pic is of Bridger’s reaction right after the call.) Bridger is over the moon! Can’t wait to show him what’s next: a message from some guy who doesn’t like bullies. Gotta wait for the stardust to clear from his eyes first, though. Mission accomplished, everyone! We can’t thank you enough. #BridgerStrong EDIT: I feel like I should also mention that Bridger has also loved all of the other videos and messages I’ve shown him from all of you. We might not be able to get to everyone right away, but your messages are no less appreciated.
