Society and its features have always inspired artists. Art creators always seek unique ways to comment on contemporary events, depict social issues and trends, and send a powerful message.
These are challenging times for us all, so they are a perfect inspiration for creatives! The illustrations of Russian artist Waldemar Kazak are unique, satirical, surreal, and shocking.
He covers current themes to communicate valuable information and remind his audience of the consequences of their malpractices.
His use of color and distortion of everyday objects and places hint at dark themes and reveal the problems of the so-called civilized Western world.
He depicts reality as dirty and corrupt and maintains that sex, power, and dominant stereotypes reduce contemporary society into a reality controlled by solitude and alienation.
Kazak went to design school and graduated in Graphic Design from the Art College of Tver, but he eventually went back to his passion, illustration, and drawing.
He explained:
“I began to draw after unsuccessful contact with a Large iron swing when I was small. For years I worked hard as a designer. I was engaged in packing, advertising polygraphy, and book design. But at some point, I wanted to draw again. Today I am an illustrator.”
