Potato chips contain dangerous ingredients that may cause numerous severe health conditions, such as cancer, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and diabetes. Their popularity has grown due to the belief that they are completely safe and free of harmful compounds.
People consumed potato as a snack regularly, while watching films, during the break at work, while driving, and children ate them at school. Apparently, the word “potato” in the name of this snack can be quite deceiving as we all know that potatoes are healthy and abundant in nutrients.
Namely, potatoes are rich in vitamin B6, which strengthens the immune system, and promotes eye health. They also reduce lower high blood pressure. Yet, once potatoes are processed, fried or baked, and thus mixed with high amounts of sodium, they lose their qualities completely.
Thus, potato chips became the major cause of obesity in America. They get drowned in trans fats during their production, and get packed with calories, which raise the chance of getting excess weight.
Also, a diet high in trans- fat raises the risk of cardiovascular disease and clogs the arteries. Potato chips are also abundant in sugar and salt, which provide the taste that we all love.
Numerous notices have been filed against large and popular chip brands like Kettle Chips, Lay’s, and Pringles by the Environmental Law Foundation in California.
They demanded that manufacturers include a label on their products which should warn about the great amounts of acrylamide included. Acrylamide is a harmful cancer-causing chemical, which is created in the process of baking or frying of starchy foods at high temperatures.
Therefore, it is advisable to eliminate potato chips from your diet, or reduce their intake to a minimum. Instead, you should try and prepare the following health recipe that will be great for your health, as it contains numerous nutrients.
